Process

From first contact to real change.

Cognitive coaching — what does the process look like?

A structured process, clear steps, no surprises. You know exactly what's happening — before you commit to anything.

Why structure

Change doesn't happen by chance.

Cognitive coaching is not a series of loosely connected conversations. It's a planned process — with a goal, a direction, and tools tailored to your situation. Structure doesn't constrain — it creates safety and ensures every session makes sense in the context of the whole. Below, you'll find a detailed description of each step — from first contact to the final session.

A detailed look at each step
Step 1 — Free consultation (30 minutes · online · before the programme)
This first meeting is a bit like a first date. We check whether there's chemistry between us. You tell me about your situation, I explain how I work. You can ask every question you have.

There's no selling and no pressure here. If I feel someone else would be a better fit — I'll say so directly and happily make recommendations.

After the consultation, we decide together which format makes sense for you — the 6-session programme or an individual coaching process.
Step 2 — "A Photograph of Your Life" (60 minutes · 1st session)
The first working session — we take a photograph of your situation.

We work with the Wheel of Life: a tool that allows you to see clearly where you are now across all the areas that matter to you. Professionally and personally — because people can't be divided into separate roles.

Based on this session, we set the goal of our work — your "north star" for the entire process.
Step 3 — A process of 5 coaching sessions (60 minutes each · once a week · online)
Five regular sessions, once a week, at the same time. Each session: what you bring today → working with the material → what you discover and take away.

We use cognitive tools adapted to your situation: the Iceberg technique, Goal-Effect, working with beliefs, working with the inner critic. I'll ask you many questions — sometimes unexpected, sometimes recurring. Not because I've forgotten what you said before, but because you're no longer in the same place as last session. And that is progress.

Between sessions: available by email and phone — because important things don't wait until the next meeting. Each session ends with a homework assignment. If you don't get to it, that's fine. This is your process.
Step 4 — Clarity and agency (the outcome)
After completing the process, clients most often describe one change: they know what matters to them — and they know the direction they want to go. They have tools to act in alignment with themselves, not with what others expect.

You hold the wheel. Not the corporation. Not expectations. Not others. You.

Practical information

What's worth knowing before you start

  • All sessions take place online — just a quiet space and a good internet connection. This is your time; make sure you're comfortable and free to talk.
  • A session can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 24 hours before — no consequence. Under 24 hours, the session is forfeited. This rule applies to both of us.
  • All of our work is fully confidential. Whatever you say — stays between us.
  • I don't evaluate. I don't advise. I don't analyse you through the lens of my own views — I'm here solely for you.
