Where do your reactions actually come from?

In many situations, we think on autopilot. We react the way we always have — the brain is designed to save energy and repeat familiar patterns. The problem arises when those patterns stop serving us. When the automatic response to pressure is paralysis instead of action. When the default answer to a request is "yes" — even when we want to say "no".

Cognitive coaching works with exactly this: with the unconscious beliefs and thought patterns that create these reactions. Not with the symptoms — with the cause. The method is grounded in neuroscience: psychology, neurology, sociology. The person seen as a whole, not in separate roles.

A partnership

You hold the wheel. I light the way.

My role is that of a guide — I ask questions, point to directions, help you see what can't easily be seen from where you're standing. Your role is to make the decisions: where you go, at what pace, what you want to explore.

I believe you have the solution within you — you just don't have access to it yet. My work is to help you find it. This isn't a process of repair. It's a process of discovery — of your resources, values and possibilities, which you already have.

Everything you say here stays between us.

Honesty with yourself is the foundation of the process — there's no point playing a role. Your employer, family, colleagues — nobody will hear anything from me. Not without your explicit consent.

Conversation and questions
Questions, sometimes unexpected, sometimes recurring. Not because I've forgotten what you said before — but because you're no longer in the same place as last session. And that is progress.

The Wheel of Life, the Iceberg technique, the Goal-Effect exercise, working with beliefs, working with the inner critic — tools tailored to your situation. Change happens in life, not during the conversation.

Writing it down
It engages additional cognitive processes and lets you track your own progress. You'll be able to see where you were after the second session — and where you are after the sixth.
The difference

Coaching is not therapy. Nor mentoring. Nor a list of ready-made answers.

A therapist works with the past and psychological disorders. A mentor shares their own experience and points to solutions. A skills trainer teaches abilities. Coaching does none of these things.

A coach asks questions — and doesn't provide answers. Works with the present and the future, not with a diagnosis. If during our work I believe you would benefit from therapeutic support — I'll tell you directly and help you find the right person.

I'm a certified cognitive coach from the Bennewicz Institute of Cognitive Science and a Member of ICF — the International Coaching Federation. In my work I follow the ICF Code of Ethics: partnership, respect for client autonomy and full confidentiality. I regularly participate in supervision, which ensures my continuous professional development and support.
